The glory of anuradapura was destroyed by south indian invaders compelling the sinhala monarchs to established the capital in a different location pulaththingara-modern polonnaruwa.the architectured features ,sculptures,painting and writings on stone have it own identify of polonnaruwa type influenced not only by buddhism but also by hindhuism as well.the UNESCO declared polonnaruwa a world heritage site in 1982.....
